The Buff Medways - Troubled Mind

I normally don’t do this, but I used this band’s short name for this post. Their full name is Wild Billy Childish & The Friends of the Buff Medway Fanciers Association, which doesn’t quite roll off the tongue so well. This music also doesn’t come in a nice smooth package, it’s far from it actually, and exactly why I like it. It has that old school garage feel, like they just came in town in an old van to play at a dingy bar. Check it out and see what you think.

Toro Y Moi - Never Matter

This is one of my favorite releases of 2013 so far, and it was playing in the coffee shop while I was building a queue. I couldn’t resist playing another track from it. He just release a bunch of shows across the states, so go check him out this summer!

Savages - She Will

These British post-punkers have a new album that just released called, Silence Yourself, that I would highly recommend. This is the first single from the album and it’s a great tune!

The Orwells - Mallrats (La La La)

Punk, Indie, Garage, whatever you want to classify it in, these kids can make some jammin’ tunes. The Orwells are really gaining some popularity lately from last year’s release, Remember When, that was dropped in August. Check it out!

How To Dress Well - Ecstasy With JoJo

It’s a few years old but still good, check out this trippy tune with an old MJ sample and a beat to keep you groovin’.

RX Bandits - Pal treaux

We haven’t heard much from this amazing band in a while, their website hasn’t been updated since November 2011! But don’t fret, they just announced a new tour for the 10th anniversary of The Resignation. They’re mostly hitting the West coast, but will show love to Philly and NYC and other northeast places. I’m definitely planning on checking it out, hope you do too!

Finish Ticket - Catch You On My Way Out

Indie rock from the Bay Area, I thought this was Young The Giant when I had first heard it. They have influences from Manchester Orchestra, The Strokes, and The Killers to name a few. You can definitely hear these bands influence in their sound. They harmonize a bit and play nice and easy music. They’re currently touring through the West, and their latest album, Tears You Apart, is available here.

The Neighbourhood - Staying Up

This mellow tune is off of their new album, I Love You, that was released sometime last month. This Cali quintet has been around for a few years and they really have a good sound.
